APP DEVELOPMENT — TOKYO
VirtualCross is a Tokyo-based development studio working on iOS and web apps — from the first idea through development and the years of operation that follow. We are small, which is exactly why we stay responsible for what we build.
Planned, built and operated in-house
DIGITAL STAMP RALLY — WEB
Build a digital stamp rally with QR codes, GPS check-ins and puzzle keywords — no app to install, everything runs in the browser. Made for shopping streets, tourism boards, events and school activities. Stamp artwork can be generated with AI, and your first rally is free.
MOSAIC & DRAW ON PHOTOS — iOS
Hide what you would rather not share in a photo by tracing over it with your finger. Pixel, blur and frosted glass, plus a colour pen you can lay a mosaic on top of. For the moment right before you post.
TURN A VIDEO INTO A LIVE PHOTO — iOS
Turn any moment of a video into a Live Photo that moves on your iPhone Lock Screen. Pick a start point and it takes up to three seconds from there. The conversion runs entirely on your device.
VIRTUAL AQUARIUM — WEB
A virtual aquarium that runs in the browser. Walk nine tanks and eleven penguin species alongside the penguins themselves. Feed them, read the commentary, switch to a fish's point of view, and pick the image quality your device can handle.
DAILY REFLECTION — WEB
A web service for looking back on your day: each night, pick one of three answers for how it went. A 24-question quiz places you in one of eight types borrowed from the I Ching's trigrams, and you can see how people of your type are doing today. No app or sign-up needed.
CAMERA WITH AI EDITING — iOS
A camera app that keeps capture and filters on your device, and sends an image out to an external AI service only when you consent and run an AI feature. A subscription raises your AI editing allowance.
3D TREADMILL RUNNING — iOS
Turns treadmill time into a run with somewhere to go. Pick a route and run it as your avatar — and if you join the same room, you can run alongside someone on the other side of the world.
SIX SLOTS, NOTHING MORE — iOS & WEB
Lay out what you love in six slots and share it with a URL. Paste a link and the title and image drop in. We never ask for your name or email address, and the app does not use the tracking advertising identifier. A one-time JPY 100 purchase removes the ads.
PHOTOS FILL THE MAP — iOS
Fill in a map with the photos you take. The prefecture or state you were in is coloured in with that photo, countries and regions worldwide are covered at no charge, and a shared map lets friends and family fill one in together.
NOTICES BY AREA AND GENRE — iOS & ANDROID
Send a notice to an area, a country or the whole world under a genre you choose. To receive, just pick the genres you want. Every notice is reviewed before delivery, and notices in other languages are translated automatically.
End to end: concept and design, implementation, App Store submission, and running the app after launch.
Small web services shaped around the actual problem, with authentication, payments and day-to-day operation built in.
We start by finding out whether a new technology holds up in practice — with a prototype you can actually run.
Have an app in mind, or a project to hand over? Start here.
We read every message and reply within 2–3 business days. For a bug or a question about a specific app, the support page for that app is the fastest route. Inquiries in English and Japanese are both welcome.
