English

This is a reference translation. The Japanese text above is the authoritative version.

VirtualCross ("we") sets out below how information is handled in "DualCam" (the "App"), the application we provide. This policy applies to both the iPhone version (App Store) and the Android version (Google Play). Where the two differ, we say so.

1. Photos and videos

Photos and videos you take with the App are first saved to the App's own library. That library is kept only on your device (in the App's storage area); we never collect, transmit or store your photos or videos. Deleting the App also deletes its library.

Photos and videos are saved to the Photos app (your photo library) only when you select them in the library and choose to save them. On Android, they are saved to your device's gallery (photos to the "Pictures/DualCam" folder, videos to "Movies/DualCam") only when you do the same.

When the App is not in the foreground, it blurs its screen so that its contents do not appear in places such as the app switcher (the same applies on Android).

2. Access to the camera, microphone and photo library (gallery)

  • Camera: used to take photos and videos.
  • Microphone: used to record sound with videos. If you do not allow it, you can still record videos, without sound.
  • Photo library: the App uses add-only access to save photos and videos to the Photos app. The App never reads the photos and videos already in your photo library.
  • Saving to the gallery (Android): the only permissions the App uses are the camera and the microphone, exactly as on iPhone. To save photos and videos it writes files of its own through Android's standard mechanism (MediaStore); it uses no storage or photo read permission, and never reads the photos and videos already on your device.

3. Advertising

The App shows rewarded ads (video ads you watch to the end) through Google's ad service, Google AdMob. Ads are shown only when you choose to save photos or videos to the Photos app (to your device's gallery on Android). If an ad cannot be shown (for example, when you are offline), the items are saved without an ad.

For ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention, AdMob may collect and use device identifiers (on iPhone, the advertising identifier, IDFA, only if you allow tracking; on Android, Google's advertising ID), your IP address, approximate location estimated from your IP address, data about how ads are shown and interacted with, and diagnostic data. See Google's policies for details.

4. App Tracking Transparency (ATT), the advertising ID, and consent (UMP)

The App may use your device's advertising identifier for personalised ads. On iPhone, iOS App Tracking Transparency shows a permission dialog before the advertising identifier (IDFA) is used. The App remains fully usable if you decline. You will still see ads, but they will be non-personalised.

On Android, the App may use Google's advertising ID (AAID). App Tracking Transparency is an iOS mechanism, so no such dialog appears on Android. You can reset or delete the advertising ID yourself in your device's Settings; the App remains fully usable if you delete it.

For users in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, consent for advertising is collected through the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP). This works the same way on iPhone and on Android. In these regions you can change your consent at any time with 「広告のプライバシー設定」 (ad privacy settings) on the screen opened from the App's "?" button.

5. Summary of information handled

We do not run a server of our own that collects or stores your information. The only things that leave your device in connection with the App are what Google receives for ad delivery and advertising consent. Neither the iPhone version nor the Android version has in-app purchases or subscriptions.

6. Sharing with third parties

Except as required by law, we do not provide your information to third parties. Information related to advertising is handled according to Google's policies.

7. Information sent from your device

The App sends information from your device to the following company. It is located in the USA and handles the information under its own privacy policy (it does not pass through us).

8. Information we hold, and requests for disclosure

We do not collect or store users' personal data on our servers or elsewhere in connection with the App. We therefore hold no retained personal data that could be the subject of a request for disclosure, correction, deletion or similar. Information related to advertising is handled by Google under its own policies. If you have any questions, please contact us at the address below.

9. Children's privacy

The App is not primarily directed at children.
